The terrorist attacks have effected us in ways we are just beginning to realize.
I have just learned that Time Out New York magazine was preparing to
feature the Coney Island Underground Short Film Festival on the cover of a
recent issue. Because of the terrorist attacks, this issue was not printed.
Time Out New York had requested promo stills.
I may have missed the cover of Time Out New York, however,
Rainbow's Child made the newspaper in Washington DC:
'Everyone is affected'
Local gays, businesses react to attacks
The response from local gays to the terrorists
attacks committed Tuesday in New York and
Washington D.C., were varied as people tried
to make sense of the situation. Gay political
and religious leaders were calling for all
- regardless of sexual orientation -
to come together in solidarity, while gay organizations
reached out to those in need,
some sought solace during memorial service services,
and others gathered at local gay bars to be with friends.
Adrian Salsgiver was about to take a train
to New York when he heard about the attacks
and decided instead to make his way to JR's.
"I was on my way to New York to take my film
to the Coney Island Underground Film Festival
in lower Manhattan," Salsgiver said. Salsgiver,
who lives on Long Island in New York said his
main concern was getting his movie, Rainbow's Child,
to the festival's office.

Fortunately, I managed to get my film to the office in time
for the Festival and now I feel my film has become even more relevant
since the terrorist attacks.

"Rainbow's Child is an important and moving film and one that we were proud
to present at The First Annual Coney Island Underground Short Film Festival.
...and Rainbow's Child kicks ass,
demand that your local film festival screen it!"
